About Scott

Scott is known for his diligent and detail-oriented approach. He takes the time to carefully understand clients' businesses and their needs, in order to build an IP strategy that complements broader business goals.

Scott entered the IP profession after graduating from the University of Auckland with a degree in mechanical engineering. While working at one of New Zealand’s leading IP firms, he completed a law degree from the University of Auckland, and qualified as a patent attorney. Before establishing Flint IP, Scott spent several years working at a large global law firm.

This includes advice on IP protection, patent drafting and prosecution, the preparation, filing, and management of registered designs, and advising on both infringement and commercialisation.
