About Sam
An exceptionally quick learner, Sam has particular aptitute for grasping complex concepts, and he an effective communicator of his knowledge to both clients and colleagues alike.
Sam is a Patent Executive on the Flint IP team. With several years part-time experience in IP before joining Flint IP, Sam is currently studying to become a qualified patent attorney.
In his role as a Patent Executive Sam assists in a wide range of IP services for clients, but in particular in drafting of new patent applications and conducting patent searching and assessments for both IP protection and freedom to operate.
Sam’s tertiary background is in law and the sciences, with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science, majoring in Chemistry, both from the University of Auckland.

John’s practice covers a broad range of IP issues, primarily in relation to electrical, mechatronics, and computer technologies. He has considerable experience advising on and managing large, global IP portfolios and managing risk in bringing new products to market. John has deep technical experience in the field of medical devices, as well as in relation to software, control systems, signal processing, and technology standards.
