About Brook
Brook is a multifaceted patent attorney with a distinctive blend of expertise enabling him to provide pragmatic and no-nonsense advice to his clients.
Brook is equipped with three degrees from the University of Auckland spanning engineering, law, and business. His journey into the realm of intellectual property began in 2015 at one of New Zealand’s leading IP firms, where he completed his qualifications as a patent attorney. He works alongside his clients, and prefers a proactive, problem-solving approach to work.
Brook’s collaborative approach extends to his experience working closely with SMEs, large businesses and in-house patent attorneys to help them navigate the complex landscape of identifying, protecting, and managing IP portfolios across large product ranges. He also has extensive experience in advising on risks associated with competitor’s IP throughout the many stages of development for new products.
Brook’s key areas of technical expertise include computer systems, robotics, medical technologies, agri-tech, control systems, software and computer implemented inventions, computer systems, aerospace.

John’s practice covers a broad range of IP issues, primarily in relation to electrical, mechatronics, and computer technologies. He has considerable experience advising on and managing large, global IP portfolios and managing risk in bringing new products to market.
